Man Down

Well, we have the first casualty of the season.  Mulch formally known as the raspberry bush.  I don't know what happened.  I planted it at the same time and in the same way as the other berry bushes.  All of them have been exposed to the same amount of sunshine and watered the same amount.

 

 

Initially, I thought perhaps the dog was urinating on it.  So, I put chicken wire up around all of the bushes to keep the dog away.  But that didn't seem to help.   The poor little bush just kept fading.  I even looked up diseases online, but I couldn't find anything that stood out.  I am at a loss (pun intended).  Let there be a moment of silence for all of the raspberries that will not be eaten this summer.
